What is Somatic Sexuality?

imagen de taller de masaje lingam y yoni. Formación semestral en sexualidad somática

Somatic Sexuality is a shorthand for sex education rooted in the body. Somatic, from the Greek soma, means body. In Somatic Techniques we refer to Soma as the inhabited, present, and integrated body, which, through awareness, feeling, listening, and caring, leads to profound changes and learning in the whole being.

Somatic Sexuality is a holistic, person-centered approach that brings together a set of body practices to empower, educate, and support individuals, couples, or groups to become more attuned, aware, and informed about their bodies, sex, and sexuality, or to work through sexual conflicts, challenges, or concerns.

In the Somatic Sexuality program we introduce some of the core tools of Sexological Bodywork™ and build on the guidelines developed by Joseph Kramer, PhD.

Goals

Working through Somatic Sexuality provides access to deeper awareness, personal growth, and fulfillment in intimate relationships with oneself or others.

One of the possibilities that this work introduces is a state of sexual activation that is freer of fantasies, unfinished emotional issues, religious dogmas, cultural restrictions, and assumed sexual patterns. Instead, it introduces a meditative state, with greater capacity to transition to deep relaxation and full arousal, and where the individual becomes aware of the body as a source of wisdom and freedom, unmatched by any other. One of the ways to access this powerful state is by actively receiving attentive and conscious erotic touch, helping others to access and make use of a variety of fundamental erotic states.

In Somatic Sexology we believe that sexual and erotic education are basic human rights.

Elle McPherson

Guest teacher - Life and Intimacy Coach

Elle McPherson is a traveler fascinated by exploring the external and internal journey of life. She is an ICF Certified Professional Coach, Certified Erotic Blueprints™ Coach, Warriorsage Academy trainer, and yoga teacher. As an experiential guide, she accompanies people on a process of discovery towards perspective, pleasure, and authentic expression.

Her approach supports her clients in breaking free from the conditioning imposed by shame and social expectations, facilitating acceptance and enjoyment of the present moment. Her style combines conscious provocation and empathetic containment: on the one hand, she challenges with deep questions that invite dreaming big and taking action, and on the other, she holds a safe, compassionate, and grounded space, where it is possible to feel and release emotions such as shame, anxiety, and fear that may be limiting personal potential.

Marcela Bretschneider

guest teacher - Somatic Educator and Contemporary Artist

Marcela is a teacher of Body Expression and Dance Improvisation with a broad and multidisciplinary training. She graduated from the International Training of the Feldenkrais Method in Argentina, specializing as a somatic educator and reaching the level of Assistant Trainer.

She is certified as a Facilitator of the “The Power of the Self” program of the “Competence Profile”, endorsed by the International Feldenkrais Federation, with training in the United States, Italy and Germany, which allows her to accompany and guide other somatic educators in their professional and personal development.

In addition, she trained as a Facilitator in the Norberto Levy approach, focused on Psychological Self-Assistance, Internal Dialogues and the Wisdom of Emotions, tools that she harmoniously integrates into her educational and therapeutic practice.

Marcela develops her work both in private contexts and in national and international institutions, also collaborating with the teaching team of the Feldenkrais Training Argentina, contributing to the training of new somatic educators.

Her passion for art is evident in her career as a contemporary art photographer, specialising in capturing the essence and movement of the human body. Her work, full of sensitivity and technique, explores the multiple dimensions of corporality with a unique perspective.

Reviews

We have sex so automated and so stereotyped! We are learning that it can be different, and that it is beautiful to live it differently. I am a sexologist and I take it to the field of my work with people and I am able to put words to a lot of things that I transmit to them and many times we find it difficult to understand.

I want to thank Ale and the space. I felt deeply listened to and validated by everything that happened this weekend, the group dynamics where each person's feelings were respected, allowing the two days to flow in harmony within a framework of care, support and very valuable learning.

It was a very expansive experience for me and I really recommend it to many other people, especially if you are LGBT or a trans person who is going through their transition, that you feel encouraged to come because it is a very safe space where you will receive very loving and very direct information.
